PTP participation process

Step 1: Why should I participate in the PTP / Comparison Program? 

  • A sponsor requires it to maintain my qualification. 

  • I need it for my quality system and want to compare my performance with laboratories worldwide. 

  • National accreditations to be considered: Nadcap, Cofrac, ENAC, ILAC… aligned with ISO 17025. 

Step 2: I log in to the PTP website 

  • I already have a client account → I log in directly (tutorial: simple login + login issues). 

  • My company has never been a PTP client → I enter company information (tutorial: creating a company account + user account). 

  • My colleague already has a PTP account, and I want to create one too (e.g., colleague is retired, on vacation, or grants access). 

  • I have an account but manage multiple laboratories across different sites. 

  • Consider an organizational chart (Location, Site, Organization, Users…). 

Step 3: What should I order? 

  • I want to participate in the current year’s PTP. 

  • I take part in tests within my accreditation scope (ISO, ASTM, AITM…). 

  • I want to order IRRs to evaluate my operators (What is IRR?). 

  • Am I participating in the Comparison Program? 

  • My participation in the current year’s PTP failed → I want to be re-evaluated for this test. 

  • The test standard is not available in the current program. 

  • I need an evaluation report urgently. 

Step 4: I place my order / I make payment 

  • Explanation of the different sections during the ordering process. 

  • “Add to cart” button + “View” button (How to add to cart a product and IRR samples?). 

  • I pay by credit card or bank transfer. 

  • Where can I find my invoice? Where can I track my order? 

Step 5: I receive and test my specimens 

  • I check that the kit is complete and matches my order. 

  • I test according to the downloadable instructions (Where can I find the technical instruction?) on the relevant kit page on the PTP website. 

  • For photo kits. 

Step 6: I fill out my result sheet 

  • I open the result sheet and enter the corresponding results (How to submit my resuts?). 

  • If I have mutliple submission, I fill in the submission form for each test method. 

Step 7: I receive my report and results 

  • I download my report from the website (only available on the site) and check if I’m Passed or Failed. 

  • If Failed: RCA → I contact my sponsor, follow the RCA process (click HERE), and reorder. 

  • If Passed: No action needed, you are qualified.
